Every year during the Hindu lunar month of Kartik, the desert town of Pushkar in Rajasthan comes alive with one of the country"s most colourful gatherings—the Pushkar Camel Fair, a highlight of the festive season. The event usually takes place between late October and early November and this year the celebrations stretch from today until 5 November, drawing crowds from near and far.
